Maiden Lane

Lower Manhattan

Conjures innocent strolls

Through leafy bowers

Young girls skipping in white linen,

In bonnets, arming baskets of flowers

Not the Meat Market

Not where virgins have lain

Beneath panting pedophiles

Maiden Lane

A one way street

In the city that has

Seen it all.
