Maiden Lane*

Maiden Lane

Lower Manhattan

Conjures innocent strolls

Through leafy bowers

Young girls skipping in white linen,

In bonnets, arming baskets of flowers

Not the Meat Market

Not where virgins have lain

Beneath panting pedophiles

Maiden Lane

A one way street

In the city that has

Seen it all.

Aha

Everything

Falls in place

Just so

Feels good.

Bygones

July 15, 2010

Let bylaws be bylaws

Inlaws be inlaws

Bygones be bygones.

Idle Wheel

March 15, 2010

Wheels spinning,

Sit back,  enjoy the view

Time out deja vu.

Tight Rope Walker

February 24, 2010

The tightness of the rope

I gave you enough

It’s all about balance

And grace under fire.

Opens Mouth, Puts Foot In

February 24, 2010

Oh dear, I fear

I put my best foot forward

Only to trip

The light fantastic.

First Glimpse

February 11, 2010

Any day now

Golden and purple

Will trumpet

Spring.

The Make-Believe Express

February 6, 2010

Things as  I might

Like them to be

Not as they are

Get on the train.

The Harmful Hitting Habit

January 27, 2010

Whack one

Smack one

Words pack a wallop too.

New World

January 25, 2010

So different

This new way of seeing

from inside

Yet so familiar.

Just a slight shift of focus

And another

new world

before me.

I step out softly

to explore.
